See this List Illustrated with Pictures

This is not meant to be a list of every movie with a snake in it, just some of those I know about.
When I watch or learn of a new one, I'll add it to the list. If you know of one I should add, let me know.

None of the brief descriptions belowshould give away important plot information you won't want to know before watching a movie,
but when you click on a movie name, you will go to a page with pictures and information that might contain SPOILERS, so be aware.

Most of these are live-action feature films or tv movies (not single tv episodes, commercials, animated films, or nature documentaries)
that mostly use real snakes, with some exceptions.

The intent here is to have fun documenting some of the many egregious misrepresentations of snakes on film, as well as the few realistic depictions of them. Snakes are by far the most commonly-used herps in movies, because many people are afraid of them and because, since there are snakes capable of killing people, they can be used as a convenient evil adversary or obstacle for a character to overcome. The audience is already predisposed to believe that all snakes are dangerous. Snakes add tension and a little extra drama, like a gun, a car chase, or sexual attraction, but they usually come across as an artificial addition inserted just for the convenience of the plot. (Some Westerns seem to think they have to show a rattlesnake somewhere just to prove they're a Western.)

Links lead to pictures and information about the snakes and the movies on one of the various pages listed above.
If a movie uses snakes in ways that puts them on more than one of my pages, the page links are listed as numbers.
There are no links from here to the lists of specific kinds of snakes, rattlesnakes, mambas, etc.
