Some of these taxa may one day prove not to be distinct enough to be given separate species or subspecies status (including Diadophis and Plestiodon), and some may be split into more than one taxon in the future (including Ambystoma californiense and Aneides flavipunctatus) but they are all currently recognized as they are listed below as of October, 2014.
