Snakes Indoors Where They're Not Expected

These are movies that have snakes running loose in houses or other buildings where they are not expected and shouldn't be found. This includes trailers or RVs where people live, barns or stables, airplanes, trains, cars and trucks, boats, and any place where snakes are put to attack people (except indoor snake pits.) It doesn't include outdoor yards and gardens, caged indoor pet snakes or snakes in zoos, pet stores or laboratories, or snakes used indoors by snake dancers, snake charmers, or for snake fights, or snakes in other places where they are intentionally kept indoors, unless the snakes get loose and become a problem.

Paul Temple Returns (Bombay Waterfront) (1952) IMDB

This British mystery is the last in a series of four films about the amateur detective Paul Temple. Here he searches for a serial killer who is terrorizing London using the name "The Marquis."

A snake (a large python) is left in a room to guard it from intruders. It's really just a plot device to enable the hero to shoot at the floor. He misses the snake, but breaks the floor tile the snake was crawling on, exposing a secret hiding place that the snake is protecting.

Using a snake as a guard is a nice exotic addition to a movie but in reality it's a bad idea because snakes will try to hide at any opportunity, unlike a guard dog.
