This terrible movie is listed on IMDB as "Big Freakin' Snake" but the credits show it as "Big F*cking Snake." Not that the title makes any difference. Pretty much everything about it sucks. The special effects are laughable and the CGI giant snakes we see are the worst I've ever seen, and I've seen a lot of bad ones. There are disjointed cuts that make it look like some scenes are missing. The plot is so nonexistent that the filmmakers apparently gave up on it. The ending is nothing but video of snakes that have nothing to do with the movie. When those are not long enough, they just repeat them in an astounding act of laziness. Maybe they were trying to make the movie long enough to call it a feature film, but after all of that it's still less than an hour long. That's the one good thing I can say about it - it's very short. (I admit that I also didn't hate the terrible jokes where herpetology was confused with herpes. Not very original, but unusual in a movie about snakes.) One reviewer on IMDB says it's the worst movie he's ever seen and begs people not to watch it, and I agree with him. It's not so bad it's good, it's so bad you really shouldn't bother with it. I wish I didn't, but how could I not watch a movie called "Big Freakin' Snake"?

The plot is loosely that somewhere outside of Los Angeles chemicals from an Army base that have leaked into the ground plus leaking methane gas from illegal land development have caused snakes to mutate. Some of them grow to giant size and others just become unusually aggressive and bite women in their bathtubs and people at a fireworks show. A woman herpetologist is called on to stop them. We see some gigantic snakes in the opening sequence that are rampaging across Los Angeles, but unfortunately, that thread is never continued.

Some of the snakes we see are very bad CGI or fake snake puppets, but there are a few library shots of some real snakes, including a python crawling through a golden skull that is completely out of place, and some prairie rattlesnake dens with snakes that are not found anwhere near Los Angeles.
