Alligators and Crocodiles in Movies

Happy Gilmore 2 (2025)

Spoiler Alert !

Some of these pictures and descriptions may give away plot details that you might not want to know before watching the film.

This is a sequel released 29 years after the original. The timeline is the same. 29 years later after he won a big golf championship, Happy (Adam Sandler) is an alcoholic supermarket worker single dad with five children. He killed his wife during a tournament with his powerful golf drive, so he gave up golf and started drinking, but he suddenly wants to make a lot of money, so he picks up the clubs again.

In Happy Gilmore (1996) Happy was distracted by a heckler during a tournament who made him miss a few shots by yelling "jackass!" The heckler was employed by Happy's rival. In the sequel, that heckler's son, credited as Donald Jr. (Eminem), wearing the same clothing his father wore, continues his father's legacy by yelling "jackass!' and making Happy miss a shot. When Happy complains about it, Don Jr. tells him he wishes his father was there to see it. Then he tells Happy that he can't hit him unless he wants to go to jail. So Happy's sons step up and grab Don, then throw him into a lake full of alligators. The gators approach him and start biting off body parts. The movie then cuts to the gator mauling as it is shown on different television screens as people watch and laugh and complain. Then we learn that Don Jr. was killed by the gators when an announcer says that they have their first fatality.

Unlike the first movie, none the alligators we see in this one are real. They're probably all mostly CGI with some practical alligator props in the water.

There's also a short funny scene with Happy swinging at a ball and knocking a snake into the air.
