This gangster crime thriller, directed by Darren Aronofsky, is described as a dark comedy. It's more quirky than laugh out loud funny, but it does have a brief and amusing scene with a pet lizard caught up in a bloody gunfight.

The protagonist Hank Thompson (Austin Butler) accidentally gets involved with Russian and Orthodox Jewish gangsters and a corrupt police detective, and some of his friends die because of it. The Russian gangsters take him to the bar where he works to retrieve a key for them that he left there, but when it turns violent, the bar owner Paul (Griffin Dunne) locks Hank and himself in a back room with a fortified door, but the gangsters shoot at them through a mail slot in the door. We see bullets destroy a small glass terrarium. Paul yells "They shot at my f**king lizard!" which is the first time we learn that he had a pet there, but it explains the terrarium. After Paul is killed, we see him slumped on the floor near the terrarium. (In a continuity error, the terrarium is still intact. They must have shot Paul's death scene before the scene when the terrarium was destroyed.) As Hank stares sadly at his dead boss, we see Paul's green lizard crawling over his lifeless arm.

The lizard is well-made CGI that may have been modeled on a Leopard Gecko, a popular pet lizard, but the bright green color is wrong. There are bright green geckos, so maybe they combined the two.
