This is the Walt Disney animated musical classic with the British nanny Mary Poppins (Julie Andrews) who can fly with an umbrella and dive into the universe inside sidewalk chalk paintings with her chimney sweep friend Bert (Dick Van Dyke.) After hearing they were re-making this movie, we watched this original version for the first time since we were kids, and found that it was still fun to watch.

The film won five Oscars, including one for its special visual effects which blended animation with live action. One of those blended scenes involves Mary Poppins and Bert walking in the country. They walk up to the banks of a pond where two turtles swim up to them and let them step onto their backs. Then the turtles swim them over to the other side of the pond.
