Amphibians in Movies   Foolish Wives (1922)   Spoiler Alert ! Some of these pictures and descriptions may give away plot details that you might not want to know before watching the film.     This is a good silent movie about a con artist Don Juan character. In a movie with sound we would hear the sounds of frogs calling to let us know that the characters are at a shack at night in the middle of a dismal swamp. Silent movies had to rely on images or words to describe the background. In this case, we see a brief staged shot of a pair of bullfrogs to indicate the swamp.
